Access Statement
The “George” is situated 300 yards from the Severn Valley Steam Railway Station. There is a bus stop immediately opposite and the town centre is a five minute walk via the rather steep Railway Street. Several taxis operate in the town for which we would be pleased to make a booking.
Unloading is available at the front of the Inn, we can assist with guests luggage. Opposite is the S.V.R. car park and others a five minute walk away, see our brochure and web site.
Disabled access is via a permanent wheelchair ramp and double doors leading to our lounge bar. Food can be served in the lounge which is adjacent to the disabled toilet.
Access to the dining area is via two 3 foot 2inch wide steps with a handrail. Steps have rises of 6 inches with 10 inch treads.
Our bedrooms are accessible via a 2 foot 9 inch wide staircase with a handrail. Steps have risers of 8 inches and a tread of 10 inches. There are seven steps to a quarter landing and a further seven to the first floor. Our bedrooms run off a 3 foot 10 inch wide corridor which has three steps with 6 inch risers and 11 inch treads.
All bedrooms have 2 foot 5 inch wide doors and smoke detectors. Each bedroom has a separate fuse board situated on the landing.
There is emergency lighting throughout all public areas including the bedroom landing where there is an external fire escape.
A 2 foot 5 inch wide door is situated between the dining area and staircase and another between the staircase and bedrooms
